Major Objective Highlights • To provide transit facilities in Nepal's import/export trade that contribute to development of Nepal's economy. • To stabilize by reducing unnecessary transit costs imposed on Nepal's import/export goods. • To take necessary actions to control, to the extent possible, issues such as theft, damage, and leakage of goods in import/export trade. • To development of modern warehouses and provide services at major Nepali customs points of Nepal-India border. • To operate clearing and forwarding activities for Nepal's import/export goods. • To conduct necessary research on transit procedures and arrangements and make recommendations to provide transit services to Nepali importers/exporters, etc.
Objectives (a) To contribute to the development of Nepal's economy by providing facilities in import and export trade. (b) To stabilize the cost in import/export trade by increasing and operating transit-related facilities. (c) To provide necessary facilities and services to any government or non-government customers. (d) With the approval and consent of the authorized body, and in compliance with prevailing laws, to operate convenient warehouses, CFS/ICD/ICP, for import/export trade either fully or partially. (e) To provide facilities and services for the transit of goods intended for Nepal or exported from Nepal, from warehouses or areas designated for storing Nepal's goods. (f) To provide facilities for loading and unloading goods imported to Nepal or exported from Nepal from ships. (g) To deliver imported/exported goods from or within the territory of Nepal to specified locations, to perform tasks such as inspecting goods, matching inventories, and issuing receipts. (h) To provide clearing and forwarding services for goods imported for Nepal or exported from Nepal. (i) To divide quantities of goods from large consignments received for various specified locations into smaller consignments. (j) To consolidate goods from small consignments. (k) To supervise and carry out tasks such as loading, customs clearance, inspection, and sealing during the transportation of goods imported for specified locations in Nepal or exported from Nepal. (l) To lock, load, and seal railways, wagons, trucks, and containers. (m) To act as an intermediary to secure space on ships for transporting various goods on behalf of Nepali importers and exporters. (n) To conduct all formal procedures with relevant authorities regarding imported or exported goods. (o) To arrange insurance for goods (cargos and shipments).
